Originally from Sperlonga, Italy, Leone D’Arcangelo was a chef in the Navy as well as several restaurants in Italy. When he and his family came to the United States and visited Carlsbad he fell in love with the location. He said it was largely due to the fact that this fair city mirrored his hometown – a beachfront settlement with aesthetically pleasing architecture.
